Detailed Description – First Aid Training for BHU Staff The First Aid Training for Basic Health Unit (BHU) staff will strengthen the capacity of healthcare workers to recognize, assess, and respond effectively to common emergencies and injuries encountered at community and primary healthcare level. The training will focus on practical, hands-on skills for providing immediate care while ensuring timely referral of patients requiring advanced medical management. Key areas will include initial assessment and triage, basic life support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), management of bleeding and wounds, fractures and sprains, burns, shock, choking, poisoning, seizures, fainting, and other common medical emergencies. Participants will also learn appropriate infection prevention and control measures, safe patient handling, emergency communication, documentation, and referral procedures. The training will use participatory and practical learning methods, including demonstrations, return demonstrations, simulations, case scenarios, and role plays. Participants will practice essential first aid techniques using appropriate training materials and equipment. A pre- and post-training assessment will be conducted to measure knowledge improvement, while practical assessments will help ensure that staff can safely apply the skills learned.
